Linda Vanzi is currently the Chief Judge on the New Mexico Court of Appeals where she has been serving since 2008. Prior to joining the Court of Appeals she spent four years as a district court judge in Bernalillo County. Linda graduated from Marymount College with degrees in English and French. She received her J.D. from the University of New Mexico in 1995. After a federal clerkship, Linda went into private practice that mainly consisted of civil rights, labor and employment law, personal injury, child abuse and neglect, and commercial law. In addition to her legal career, Linda has a background working for large corporations as a safety and environmental health engineer and owning a small business in Taos. She continues to be actively involved as a volunteer in the community through many civic organizations and teaches at the UNM School of Law as an adjunct professor on a regular basis.
